Senior Java Developer - Insurance systems - Zurich
Contract role - 2 days a week on site!
We're supporting a large insurance programme in Switzerland and are looking for an experienced Lead Java Developer to join a global claims transformation initiative.
This is a senior, hands-on role with real ownership - shaping how global claims components are implemented and adapted locally, while guiding distributed development teams.
What you'll be doing
Leading the design and development of ABS Claims solutions (strong focus on Claims File)
Analysing and implementing components within the Swiss claims landscape
Defining local architecture and required enhancements
Guiding and supporting developers across multiple locations
Ensuring high code quality through reviews, testing, and best practice
Working closely with stakeholders to align global standards with local needs
Ideal Background / Experience
Strong experience as a Senior / Lead Java Developer
Solid Java background (Java 12+), Spring / Spring Boot
Experience with OSGi / Eclipse Plug-ins
Comfortable working in international, distributed teams
Confident leading technically and pushing delivery forward
Nice to have
Claims domain knowledge (Motor / Claims processes)
ABS Business Layer or Core Plug-in experience
Camunda
Azure / cloud exposure
Tech & Tools
Java, REST, Spring, ABS, CISL, Git, JUnit, Jenkins, JIRA, Eclipse / IntelliJ
