We are currently seeking a Research Associate to join a collaborative and international team focused on non-malignant hematological disorders, with an emphasis on hemoglobinopathies and anemia. You will play a vital role in evaluating new therapeutic strategies using cell culture-based in vitro models and preclinical mouse models.

Your Responsibilities

  • Conduct preclinical studies using transgenic mouse models (handling, injections, tissue collection)
  • Perform downstream ex vivo assays (e.g., flow cytometry, qPCR, western blotting)
  • Work with cell lines, primary cells, and patient-derived material
  • Contribute to assay development, study design, and interpretation of experimental data
  • Collaborate closely with other scientists, maintain high-quality documentation, and present findings
  • Foster a clean and positive work environment and actively support team activities
What You Bring
  • MSc or BSc in Life Sciences (e.g., Cell/Molecular Biology, Immunology, Pharmacology, Hematology) OR completed apprenticeship ("Lehrabschluss") with 3+ years' industry or academic experience
  • Mandatory animal experimentation certification (LTK1, FELASA, or equivalent)
  • Proven hands-on experience with rodents (injections, tissue sampling)
  • Skilled in cell culture and molecular biology techniques
  • Highly organized, self-motivated, and detail-oriented
  • Fluency in English and strong interpersonal communication
  • Experience in an industrial research environment is a plus
  • Experience with flow cytometry or background in immunology/hematopoiesis is desirable
