to join our crew in Zurich. In this role, you will provide 3rd level/SRE support for IBM MQ in distributed and mainframe environments, focusing on planning, configuring, building, migrating and administering MQ managers. You will work closely with payments application teams to help drive automation, reliability and performance improvements across our banking client's systems.
Responsibilities
Ensure the reliability, quality, and security of digital products, technology services and supporting infrastructure
Engineer operational improvements to minimize risk and impact of failures, including predictive monitoring, auto-scaling and self-healing solutions
Respond to production incidents, analyze root causes and identify operational hotspots for continuous improvement
Collect and analyze operational data, define and monitor key metrics and communicate actionable insights
Apply a broad range of engineering practices, such as instrumentation, performance analysis, log analytics, automated testing, deployment and operations, to enhance system reliability
Drive automation initiatives and proactively identify areas for improvement and performance bottlenecks
Build and maintain support for cloud technologies and Kafka, ensuring seamless integration with payments application teams
Collaborate with stakeholders to deliver middleware requirements on time, maintaining a risk-aware and compliant environment
Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree (or equivalent) in IT, Computer Engineering or a related field
10+ years of experience in a similar role, with a strong focus on IBM MQ (distributed or mainframe infrastructure) in complex, security-conscious environments
Advanced technical expertise in IBM MQ, experience with TIBCO EMS or Confluent Kafka is a plus
Solid Unix/Linux skills, with scripting and automation tool experience (e.g., Amelia) preferred
Familiarity with ITIL practices and proven ability to implement strategies that enhance system reliability and performance
Strong analytical, problem-solving and solution design skills, with experience in SRE/DevOps models considered advantageous
Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal, including the ability to interact with business and IT stakeholders and produce technical documentation
