The Senior Team Lead Operations Automation is the lead for an interdisciplinary team of Bioprocess Engineers Automation. He/She manages and supports the operational automation related activities of a manufacturing (USP) unit with regard to safety, quality and on-time-in full delivery. He/she is accountable for the performance, results of the assigned area. He/she is member of the Manufacturing Leadership Team.

Key accountabilities and duties

Manages a team of Automation Bioprocess Engineers with full responsibility for all technical and human resource management aspects

Ensures a good information exchange from the upper management levels to own team and vice versa incl. timely escalation of challenges

Leading person in case of automation issues (Syncade/DeltaV) in his/her manufacturing unit/area according to the common escalation guidelines. Supports MSAT, production support, QA and production teams with expertise in solution finding and trouble shooting

Representing OPS Automation in customer meetings, audits and regulatory inspections and CAPEX projects (Commissioning and Qualification)

Executes innovation and improvement projects comprising general manufacturing/automation aspects for the production plant

Supports timely and high quality creation, optimization and control of production documentation (EBR, SOPs, etc.)

Call service/Pikett outside regular working hour

Qualifications and skills required

Bachelor, Master or PhD with the major in Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Engineering or related disciplines

Advanced experience and hands-on knowledge of MES Syncade and DeltaV (recipe development)

Minimum 5 years working experience in GMP environment in biopharmaceutical industry

Fluent in English, German is a plus

Strong leadership skills; very good communication skills and interaction with all kinds of interfaces within the organization

High motivation and dynamic drive; solution-oriented
