You are a skilled and passionate

subsurface / reservoir modeller

, enthusiastic about coupled process modelling. You will play a pivotal role within the Dynamic Repository Modelling (DRM) team, serving as a key interface between engineering and safety analysis teams, advancing our pioneering project, and contributing directly to the safe, long-term disposal of radioactive waste. Your work will blend innovation, advanced modelling, and digital engineering integration to deliver solutions with a real and lasting impact on society and the environment.

Your responsibilities

Drive innovation

: You will develop cutting-edge, high-end modelling technologies to advance dynamic modelling capabilities for the deep geological repositories.

Build the toolbox

: You will design and implement integrated modelling tools that are scalable, maintainable, and compatible with industry standards and evolving project requirements, tailored to Nagra's needs for performance and long-term safety assessment.

Integrate and implement

: You will create seamless modelling workflows that integrate fully with Nagra's digital environment and tools for engineering and data management.

Advanced modelling

: You will deliver high-quality modelling for the performance and safety assessment of the repository.




Required qualifications and skills

University degree in engineering, natural or computer sciences or a related discipline Hands-on experience in subsurface modelling of thermo-hydraulic-mechanical-chemical processes Strong foundation in physics, fluid mechanics, and principles of computational science Adaptability and willingness to commit to the repository project Excellent communication skills in English; proficiency in German is an asset Strong technical and scientific writing skills, particularly in English, for producing technical notes, reports, and publications Ability to work effectively in interdisciplinary teams and translate complex geological data into formats relevant for applications in the fields given above Experience in collaborative, cross-functional, or international project environments is a plus
