Project / Role:
For our client, a large pharmaceutical company based in Basel, we are looking for specialists in the field of material flow systems (m/f/d).

Background :


As a material flow system (MFS) engineer (f/m/d), you will be involved in various investment projects. The position is advertised for the entire duration of the project, expected to be 3 years, full-time (alternatively part-time 80%). As part of the investment projects at the Kaiseraugst site, two new packaging lines and an assembly line are being acquired for our packaging plant. For this purpose, the logistical supply and disposal of the lines must be planned, implemented, and ensured on time (integration into the existing material flow infrastructure). The task of the material flow system is to deliver the consumables required on the lines from the warehouse to the lines and to transport packaged/assembled goods back to the warehouse. In addition, a new cold storage facility is planned at the Kaiseraugst site for the storage of the aforementioned materials (consumables and packaged/assembled finished goods). The work packages required for the material flow/new warehouse construction, such as planning, consulting, document creation, implementation, and commissioning, are also part of the advertised position. As an MFS Engineer (f/m/d), you will be part of the project team as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) and responsible for the planning and implementation of the above-mentioned tasks. You will work with a highly experienced Roche colleague from the material flow (warehouse/logistics) area. The systems to be managed, including the associated infrastructure, include conveyor systems, the connection of the new lines to the existing warehouse/high-bay warehouse (technical part) and to the existing automated guided vehicle (AGV), and warehouse management and material flow systems (WMS/MFS).

The ideal candidate has a university degree with a focus on material flow systems and at least three years of professional experience in the design of logistics facilities and with corresponding material flow systems. Furthermore, the candidate has knowledge of technical systems in the material flow environment, as well as warehousing and logistics. Finally, the candidate has GMP knowledge and fluent German skills.

Tasks & Responsibilities:


Efficient and effective processing of MFS sub-projects in accordance with the processes relevant for the provision of services: o Planning, collaboration in the creation of URS, commissioning, partial qualification if necessary, process optimization of technical material flow systems / operating facilities at the Kaiseraugst site.
o Proactive support of the customer in defining and initiating the investment project and orders, including cost estimates and schedules.
o Management of sub-projects and work packages as well as coordination with other sub-project managers and employees (SMEs) from other disciplines as well as the project manager and project controller. This includes responsibility for the technical solutions as well as costs and deadlines.
Preparation, review and approval of project, plant, qualification and SGU documentation (SGU = Safety, Health, Environmental Protection). Implementation and assurance of work packages in accordance with the "state of the art" as well as official and internal regulations / guidelines in the area of ??SGU and GMP. Transfer of the systems/equipment from the project into routine operation and handover to the customer (packaging and storage operations) or to the technical support staff/operations engineering.

Must Haves:



Basic technical training, ideally with a completed degree (university of applied sciences/technical university) with a focus on (technical) logistics/material flow systems (MFS) or qualified training in this area At least 3 years of professional experience in the project planning of logistics systems and with corresponding material flow systems Knowledge of the technical systems in the material flow environment as well as warehouse/logistics Knowledge of requirements and working in a GMP environment or the willingness to familiarize yourself with the GMP environment You are independent, proactive and have integrity and have a very high level of service readiness with a strong sense of duty You are flexible and have a quick grasp and can therefore respond quickly to customer requests/project requirements. Your working style is always goal-oriented You question conventional thought patterns and are open to new, creative ideas - even outside of your usual fields (out of the box thinking) You enjoy working in an agile, self-organized work environment You are characterized by strong social skills, the ability to work in a team and very good communication and coordination skills, including when dealing with stakeholders and at all levels You are fluent in German, both written and spoken, and preferably also in English
