The Global Planning Leader

will lead the Global Planning function for TECA & Sports Platforms within Orthopaedics Business Unit of J&J MedTech. Together, these platforms drive annual sales of about $4.2B. The Leader will be responsible for driving the Supply Planning Process globally with a strong Customer-First focus, ensuring that customer service objectives are being met while meeting cost and inventory cash flow targets for the platform. The role will report into the Vice President of Global Planning for Orthopaedics and partner closely with the Vice President of TECA-Sports Supply Chain to support the delivery of the End-to-End (E2E) Platform strategy, its New Product Introductions, and day-to-day execution of supply chain activities


In order to deliver the objectives of the role, this Leader will be responsible for building a leading-edge planning capability for the TECA & Sports platforms, in line with the Supply Chain Planning strategy for Orthopaedics. Critical to building these new capabilities will be maturing foundational capabilities in the core planning systems and ERP systems and evolving the planning process from a functional focus to an end-to-end value stream focus with an accelerated evolution towards advanced analytics and autonomous planning capabilities.


This leader will lead a team of about 40 staff. A key area of accountability will be to ensure that this team reflects the talent and capabilities required to deliver the overall objectives for the Planning function and TECA/Sports platforms.

Key Responsibilities:




The Key Responsibilities of the Global Planning Leader for TECA/Sports are as follows:

The design, operation and continued improvement of the Global Planning process for TECA/Sports. Owning the Global IBP process execution for TECA/Sports and ensuring - in partnership with the E2E Platform Leader - that key decisions required from the process are being provided to support Supply Chain decision-making. Owning the E2E execution of the Supply Planning Process so that product is available at the right place, in the right quantities and at the right time to service our customers. Working closely with strategic manufacturing partners and external suppliers to ensure that their supply plans align with our requirements. Continual development of the team to meet the demands of a modern supply chain while growing the capabilities of individual members. Owning and monitoring key supply chain plan-related performance metrics including: + Service: OTIF-Delivered, Backorder value.
+ Inventory: value and days of inventory, measured at each echelon of the supply chain.
+ Demand Forecast accuracy: Bias and Forecast Error - measured in partnership with the regions to hold them accountable through the IBP process.
+ Manufacturing Plan Attainment: Volume and Mix MPS Attainment - measured to hold strategic manufacturing partners accountable for delivering their planned output.
+ Excess & Obsolete: value and split between NPI and base business, measured both at the warehouse and field levels in partnership with the regions.
+ NPI launch metrics: On-time launch performance.
+ Team productivity metrics, including $ per SKU planned for the Platform.
Providing Orthopaedics Supply Chain and Commercial leadership with timely reports that inform about service, product availability issues and mitigation actions, and overall planning effectiveness assessment for the platforms' supply chains. Create and maintain an environment of innovative continuous improvement, focusing on quality, cost reduction, process development and improvement in supply. Lead team; develop goals and objectives; provides regular feedback and development plans Owning and shaping the advanced analytics capability within the team to drive the overall optimization of E2E metrics for the TECA/Sports Platforms. Representing Global Planning on the TECA/Sports E2E Supply Chain Leadership Team.

Qualifications



Experience and Education



A minimum of a bachelor's degree in Science, Engineering, Business, Supply Chain Management or related discipline is required. An advanced degree in Science, Engineering, Business or equivalent experience is preferred. A minimum fifteen (15) years of experience in a complex Supply Chain environment is expected, along with a proven leadership track record in Supply Chain Planning. The ability to drive process improvements, innovate, prioritize and collaborate in a heavily matrix environment is required. Experience in creating Customer-Centric E2E Supply Chain strategies and delivering Best-in-Class business results through innovative customer-focused solutions is required. Ability to influence and gain cross-functional support to deliver the strategy is required. Demonstrated ability to lead and drive operational improvement using process excellence tools is preferred. Strong written and oral communications skills are critical for success in this role. Experience in healthcare or similarly complex, regulatory-dependent sector is preferred. APICS / CSCP / LEAN / Six Sigma certifications are preferred.

This position will be based in Zuchwil, Switzerland. The position is expected to require an average of about 20-30% of travel.
