One of our clients is seeking a DevOps Storage Backup Engineer
Contract: initially 6 months
Office location: Bern
Main Tasks:
Under the leadership of the client's Product Owners/Scrum Masters, you will ensure secure, stable operations as well as continuous development and automation of the customer's new digitalization platform. You will be self-motivated, committed, and well-versed in the DevSecOps model. With your passion for ICT, you will be responsible for the following areas:

  • Service Request Management
  • Incident Management
  • Monitoring and Event Management
  • Change Enablement
  • Continual Improvement
  • Knowledge Management
Skills must have:
- A university degree or Federal Diploma in Computer Science with several years of professional experience, or a career changer with equivalent further training and professional experience in computer science.
- Extensive practical experience in storage management and backup solutions.
- Extensive experience with NetApp products, including installation, configuration, administration, and performance optimization.
- In-depth knowledge of Commvault technologies, particularly related to data backup, recovery, and archiving.
- Knowledge of SAN/NAS architectures and protocols such as NFS, CIFS/SMB, and iSCSI.
- Experience with automation tools and scripting languages such as Python or Bash to simplify and automate routine tasks.
- Knowledge of cloud storage solutions and hybrid infrastructures.
- Familiarity with system monitoring and management tools, as well as troubleshooting complex storage environments.
- Fluent German
Skills Nice to have:
- Strong problem-solving skills, particularly in identifying and resolving storage and backup issues.
- Ability to develop storage and backup strategies and continuously adapt them to changing business requirements.
- Experience in conducting risk analyses and developing disaster recovery plans.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to clearly communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical team members.
- Proactive, highly self-motivated and able to work successfully both independently and as part of a team.
