We are looking, on behalf of one of our prestigious clients, for a skilled
Digital Trade Compliance Officer
to join their team at their headquarters in Basel.
This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to a global leader in the agricultural sector while working in a dynamic, multicultural environment.
This is a 2-year temporary assignment.
Your responsibilities
As a Digital Trade Compliance Officer, you will support the company's global trade operations by managing customs classification, controlled substances regulations, and chemical trade controls. Leveraging digital tools and data analytics, you will help ensure regulatory compliance across international markets. You will:
Support HS classification management for chemical products
Assist with controlled substance management
Work with internal databases and digital tools to analyze data and generate reports
Support the implementation of digital trade compliance tools, automation, and AI solutions
Collaborate with cross-functional and geographically diverse teams
Contribute to internal projects and continuous process improvements
Your profile
Degree in Chemistry or equivalent, with strong knowledge of chemical structures and nomenclature, and a first experience in a similar position within the chemical or pharmaceutical industry
Understanding of HS/HTS classification principles (World Customs Organization)
Strong proficiency in Excel and database management; ideally, basic programming skills and the ability to create simple automation scripts
Fluent English is required; German language skills are a plus
