This position combines in-depth training and skills development with exposure to various aspects of Lonza's Global Engineering Functions, Automation & MES unit. The incumbent is responsible for supporting the execution of the GE strategy, the implementation of process improvement programs, and overall program management (PMO) as well as general support to the Head of Automation & MES.


This includes establishing and maintaining strong structures, such as organization, team meeting, decision-making, communication, and documentation flows, in accordance with project management principles, to ensure adherence to project management processes and improve the team efficiency. The assignment of responsibilities and projects depends on current business needs and on the Trainee's skills and interests.

What you will do

Support the definition and implementation of robust and strategic business processes related to strategic growth investment oversight Contribute to monthly project review and reporting process from a business process perspective; contribute to Fabriq reporting of KPIs Support ongoing Growth Project Process improvement programs (implementation & tracking) Support resource planning and management for a globally acting organization Continuously drive better business practices and increased value through measurement and improvement of key performance indicators Support organization of internal workshops and communications (agendas, meeting minutes, action lists, etc); support engagement & collaboration initiatives Participate in and support coordination of project-related documents, reports, and presentations Support the Automation & MES Lead Team Members for ad hoc requests Cooperate closely with peers from the network or other stakeholders in several areas of Project Engineering management in a collaborative setting Coordinate and lead process improvement initiatives

What we are looking for

Bachelor Degree or Master Degree Field of Automation, IT, Life Sciences, Project Management, Engineering or related discipline Technical knowledge in automation or MES is a plus Very good knowledge in IT tools, especially MS Office Excel, Word, PPP (project management tools as MS project/Primavera P6/Planview a plus) Familiarity with process equipment and GMP biomanufacturing environment and requirements is an advantage LBMS / LEAN and / or Fabriq experience is a plus English fluent, German an asset
