Job Summary As a Trust Operations Officer / Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO), the incumbent supports the Deputy Managing Director in overseeing the operational and administrative functions of our Swiss trust business. The role focuses on implementing group initiatives, adapting policies and procedures, providing corporate secretarial and governance support to our Geneva entities, and fulfilling the responsibilities of a Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO). The incumbent also assists trust officers with CRS and FATCA related matters and reviews key risk indicators and registers and identifies potential issues requiring further attention.
Job Accountabilities
? In conjunction with Group Trust, manage the operational and administrative functions of our Swiss trust business ensuring that all procedures remain current and effective.
? Provide corporate secretarial and governance support to the Geneva entities.
? Acts as the primary point of contact for SO-FIT and FINMA, maintaining a strong working relationship with regulatory bodies.
? Serves as MLRO for the Swiss trust business, ensuring full compliance with Swiss anti-money laundering regulations.
? In collaboration with Group Compliance, adapt policies and procedures to reflect regulatory requirements in Switzerland and implement group compliance initiatives.
? Participate in Group Compliance and operational meetings as directed.
? Manage relationships with external stakeholders and local management, including overseeing communications with regulators and law enforcement regarding financial crimes matters.
? Review and analyse suspicious activity reports (SARs) and related data to detect potential money laundering or terrorist financing activity.
? Deliver training on AML obligations to staff and promote awareness of regulatory obligations.
? Ensure accurate, secure and confidential maintenance of all records and transactions.
? Support trust officers with CRS (Common Reporting Standard) and FATCA (Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act) ensuring compliance.
? Assist in preparing, monitor and review key risk indicators and registers, escalating potential concerns to the Managing Director/ Deputy Managing Director.
? Ensure business operations are aligned with the company's ethical, compliance and risk standards.
? Stay current with industry developments and regulatory changes, adapting internal policies and procedures accordingly.

Know-How / Competency Requirements Education and Professional Qualifications:
? Bachelor's degree in Law, Finance, Business Administration or related discipline.
? Professional qualification in Regulatory and/or Compliance (e.g. CAMS)
? Professional qualification in Trust and Estate Planning (or equivalent) preferred.
Professional Experience and Business Exposure:
? Minimum of 5 years' experience in the trust or legal industry.
? Strong knowledge of the Swiss regulatory environment and familiarity with industry developments.
? Experience working with UHNW clients across multiple jurisdictions.
? Proven experience in establishing and administering companies, trusts and other structures internationally.
Technical Skills and Languages:
? Fluent in English and French. Spanish an advantage.
? Strong knowledge of Swiss trust regulations and anti-money laundering legislation.
? Experience with trust management software.
? Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.

This role requires the incumbent to obtain and maintain successful accreditation by SO-FIT.
Reporting Line: This role reports directly to the Deputy Managing Director, and there is also an indirect reporting line to the chairperson of Butterfield Trust (Holdings) Limited for escalation purposes.
