Company Description
At , the European Organisation for Nuclear Research, physicists and engineers are probing the fundamental structure of the universe. Using the world's largest and most complex scientific instruments, they study the basic constituents of matter - fundamental particles that are made to collide together at close to the speed of light. The process gives physicists clues about how particles interact, and provides insights into the fundamental laws of nature.
Introduction
You will engage in the design and specification of beam transfer systems across CERN's accelerator complex, following the systems from initial concept to beam commissioning and operational deployment. An intrinsic part of your work will be to carry out the R&D needed to understand the performance of existing beam transfer systems and to propose improvements or upgrades needed to meet the future needs of CERN's ambitious research programme.
