Fortray Global is looking desktop or an EUC Engineer in Zurich, Switzerland with B2-certified German and English language proficiency. Our client is a Swiss company, so the candidate must have work authorization in Switzerland or a stable visa valid for at least two years. Contract Type B2B.
We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive Advanced IT Support Engineer to join our IT team. This role requires a deep understanding of systems, networks, and advanced troubleshooting techniques. The successful candidate will be responsible for resolving complex technical issues, maintaining IT infrastructure, supporting escalated end-user incidents, and playing a key role in strategic IT projects.
Key Responsibilities :
Provide Tier 3 support and resolve complex technical issues escalated from Tier 1 and Tier 2 support teams.
Administer and maintain Windows and/or Linux servers, Active Directory, Office 365,virtualization platforms (VMware/Hyper
V), and cloud infrastructure (Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud).
Troubleshoot network-related issues involving switches, routers, firewalls, and VPNs.
Perform root cause analysis for recurring incidents and implement long-term Solutions .
Automate routine tasks and improve support processes through scripting (e.g., PowerShell, Python, Bash).
Manage endpoint protection, patch management, backups, and disaster recovery protocols.
Deploy and configure new systems, servers, and network equipment.
Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to identify and remediate vulnerabilities.
Support IT projects including infrastructure upgrades, system migrations, and cloud adoption.
Document all issues and solutions in the ticketing system and maintain technical documentation.
Provide mentorship and training to junior support staff.
Qualifications:
Required:
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience).
Minimum 4-6 years of experience in IT support or systems engineering roles.
Deep understanding of Windows/Linux OS, networking, and enterprise applications.
Hands-on experience with Active Directory, Group Policy, DHCP, DNS, and Exchange.
Proficiency with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V) and cloud platforms
(Azure, AWS, GCP).
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred:
Certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator, CompTIA Advanced Security Practitioner (CASP+), Cisco CCNA/CCNP, or VMware VCP.
Experience with ITSM tools (e.g., ServiceNow, Jira Service Management).
Knowledge of scripting or automation tools (PowerShell, Bash, Python).
Working Conditions:
May require occasional evening or weekend work for system maintenance or upgrades.
Hybrid/Remote options may be available depending on location and team structure.
On-call rotation may be required.
