The ideal candidate has a solid background in trade reconciliation and cash management within a financial institution and experience with SWIFT messaging.
This is an initial contract running until the end of our client's financial year on 31 Marchwith option to extend on a long term basis based on the project road maps, with start date ASAP (however they can wait for the right candidate).
Responsibilities will include:
  • Processing, confirmation and matching of transactions.
  • Investigating and resolving processing exceptions for non-standard or special operations (bonds, money market, FX, Gold, and derivative instruments).
  • Investigating and resolving confirmation breaks and settlement failures together with the front office, custodians, and customers.
  • Ensuring accuracy and timeliness of confirmations, settlements, and payments.
  • Ensuring settlement instructions are kept up to date.
  • Monitoring cash settlement and performing cash reconciliations, investigating breaks, processing compensation requests.
  • Documenting processes and procedures as the need arises.
  • Acting as the main point of contact for internal customers with regards to certain activities.
About the customer:
As the premier supplier to our international banking client in Basel, Swisslinx are looking for a versatile Back Office Generalist to join their team. In this role, you will support both Back and Front Office operations, working closely with the Banking department and other internal stakeholders.
Requirements:
You will possess as many of the following skills as possible:

  • Knowledge of financial instruments (e.g. money market, FX, and derivative instruments etc. - knowledge in any of the listed would be helpful).
  • Knowledge of financial instruments
  • Has experience in cash management and trade reconciliation.
  • 3+ year years in Back or Middle Office in a financial institution.
  • Fluency in English is required.
  • A good understanding of and interest in IT, new technologies, willing to explore technology.
