About the Role
Did you know that reinsurance is also used as a Capital Management tool?

When you first think of reinsurance, risk transfer quickly comes to mind, sharing risk between insurers and reinsurers. While this is true, capital management considerations are equally important and drive decisions at our insurance clients. In Business Development (BD) we generate reinsurance leads and build value propositions that attract our clients, usually with a capital management perspective in mind. Together we engage on risk & capital management to craft transactions that make our clients more resilient. We co-develop impactful capital concepts and reinsurance structures. From Zurich, we serve markets in Europe, Middle East and Africa and work on European projects with colleagues in Munich and London.

In joining Business Development, you will gain a thorough knowledge of reinsurance and Swiss Re from a global perspective and across all lines of business. You will have the ability to develop further through the close collaboration with Client Markets, Structured Solutions and Underwriting

The key tasks and responsibilities include:

Analyze Solvency and financial disclosure and connect findings with qualitative research to develop client specific insights and hypothesis

Deliver high quality analytics and solvency simulations to demonstrate the value of reinsurance to our clients

Develop client pitches with a focus on how reinsurance benefits financial metrics

Be a key partner for transactions in cross functional teams, support planning, engagement and marketing activities for key client accounts and markets

Explore our clients\\\' strategic challenges, changes in regulation and insurance market environment, to develop reinsurance propositions and origination strategies

As you grow, you will start to engage with clients on their needs and journey and will facilitate solutions in close cooperation with client management and related teams.

About the Team
In Business Development, we collaborate globally with locations in Asia, America and Europe and we are 100% client oriented. We comprise around 30 professionals with different cultural and educational backgrounds and have a strong commercial focus.

In Europe, we are impacting clients and markets with our work out of Zurich, Munich and London with most of our team based in Zurich. We are working in a good and concentrated atmosphere while having fun at the same time. You will benefit from the deep experience of our senior team members, who will train and introduce you to the world of reinsurances.

About You

• You have successfully completed a Master or PHD university degree, preferably in Actuarial Science, Risk Management, Finance, or Accounting
• You have gained some first experience in the broader re/insurance industry
• You are keen to grow your knowledge in Solvency, Capital Management, IFRS and Structured Reinsurance
• You have strong commercial sense, you see the opportunity rather than the hurdles
• You are able to put yourself into your client\\\'s shoes and are an active listener
• You are self-motivated, hardworking, analytical, proactive and able to work in a collaborative environment
• You command excellent oral and written English skills, additional European language is a must
• Advanced MS Office skills
