Design, maintain, and promote a shared system design platform that advances research and education in complex Systems-on-Chip (SoCs) and embedded computing at EPFL.
Main duties and responsibilities
Creating a system design platform accessible to all EPFL labs to facilitate research and development of complex SoCs and related embedded systems.
Maintaining and expanding this platform in collaboration with EPFL labs by systematically extending it based on EPFL research.
Overseeing the creation and distribution of Open-Source Hardware-based platforms and design methodologies for EPFL research.
Providing training for PhD students and actively participating in hands-on teaching, including the development of new, dedicated classes (currently lacking in our curriculum) on embedded computing platforms.
Promoting the platforms use inside and outside EPFL, for instance, in EPFL MAKE projects.
Profile
Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field; or M.Sc. with
minimum 5 years of industrial experience
in IC design.
Strong expertise in one or more of the following: digital design (RTL, synthesis), RF design, or low-power design.
Proficiency with industry-standard EDA tools (e.g., Cadence, Synopsys, Mentor Graphics).
Solid understanding of CMOS technology and semiconductor device physics.
Experience with tape-out and silicon validation is a plus.
Excellent problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
Experience with FinFET or advanced node technologies.
Publications or patents in IC design are a strong plus.
