Are you a visionary leader with a passion for public policy, professional excellence, and international collaboration? Do you want to drive impact at the intersection of finance, risk, and society? The Actuarial Association of Europe (AAE) is seeking a dynamic Chief Executive to lead the voice of the actuarial profession across Europe.

About the Actuarial Association of Europe (AAE)

The Actuarial Association of Europe (AAE) brings together 38 national actuarial associations, representing around 30,000 qualified actuaries across 37 countries. As the voice of the actuarial profession in Europe, the AAE provides independent advice to European institutions, promotes the highest professional and ethical standards, and fosters a vibrant community of experts committed to strengthening financial stability and societal resilience.

We are seeking an inspiring and strategic Chief Executive to lead this influential organisation at a pivotal time for the profession and for Europe's financial and social landscape.

Your role

The Chief Executive will be the driving force behind the AAE's strategic vision -- enhancing the profession's voice in Europe, ensuring strong governance, and enabling collaboration across national associations. This is a leadership role of significant influence, ideal for a forward-thinking professional who combines strategic acumen, policy insight, and the ability to build consensus across a diverse network.

Working under the supervision of the AAE Chairperson, the Chief Executive will:

Shape and execute strategy - Support the Board in defining and implementing the AAE's long-term vision, strategic plan, and annual business objectives. Enhance external impact - Strengthen the AAE's public affairs profile by cultivating relationships with key European stakeholders, including the European Commission, Parliament, and regulatory bodies. Foster professional excellence - Champion high standards of actuarial education and professionalism across Europe and promote the profession's contribution to emerging societal and economic challenges. Facilitate networking and exchange of ideas - Promote a European community of actuaries by organising AAE events such as its General Assembly or the European Congress of Actuaries. Lead collaboration and governance - Ensure efficient governance, effective operation of committees and working groups, and meaningful engagement with member associations. Manage and inspire the AAE team - Lead a small, high-performing staff and coordinate the contributions of numerous volunteer actuaries across Europe.

Who You Are

The ideal candidate will bring:

At least 15 years of professional experience in senior leadership, policy, or association management -- ideally within European institutions, financial services, or a related professional field. A proven record in strategic planning, governance oversight, and stakeholder engagement at the European level. Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to unite and inspire professionals from diverse cultural and technical backgrounds. Understanding of regulation, or technical professions; experience in or familiarity with the actuarial profession is an advantage. Integrity, diplomacy, and a collaborative mindset.

Why Join Us?

This is an exceptional opportunity for an experienced leader who wants to shape how actuarial expertise contributes to a sustainable, data-driven, and equitable Europe. The Chief Executive will play a key role in amplifying the profession's influence on public policy, supporting professional innovation, and ensuring that the voice of actuaries continues to strengthen trust in financial and social decision-making across Europe.
