The EPFL AI Center focuses on advancing research, education and innovation in AI at EPFL and beyond. It is at the core of a vibrant EPFL community and dynamic external ecosystem that includes a large number of partners and stakeholders in AI, including academia, industry, government, and international organisations. In this dynamic and exciting ecosystem, the EPFL AI Center strives to promote a responsible and inclusive vision for AI.

This position supports the EPFL AI Center's communication activities including its flagship event, AMLD Intelligence Summit, as well as the communication activities of strategic national initiatives in AI, like SwissAI.

You will collaborate with the Head of AI Communication (EPFL AI Center), the EPFL AI Center team, the EPFL Vice-Presidency for Support to Strategic Initiatives and EPFL's communications unit (Mediacom), and develop close interactions with your peers at the ETH AI Center through the Swiss National AI Institute

Main duties and responsibilities


Content creation: Creating and editing content for various formats (articles, interviews, announcements, press releases, web pages) Visual storytelling: Developing visuals and communication materials (presentations, posters, brochures, signage, social media assets) Website and social media: Update key web content and contribute to our social media presence (EPFL AI Center and AMLD channels) Media relations: With the support of Mediacom, coordinate coverage and interviews with keynote speakers and guests Supporting community engagement and internal communication across EPFL, including initiatives to encourage responsible AI adoption Coordinating external service providers (photographers, videographers, designers, etc.) and managing production timelines Collecting data and insights for post-event analysis and reporting (especially for AMLD Intelligence Summit), with recommendations for improvement

Profile


3-5 years of professional experience in communication, ideally in science, technology, or academic environments Experience with event management is a plus University-level education (Bachelor or Master's) in communication, marketing, media studies, journalism, or a related field Ability to integrate in highly dynamic environments, Capabilities for managing several projects at once and meeting deadlines Familiarity with AI tools and technology French and English at conversational level, German is a plus Strong branding and storytelling skills Visual communication skills: manage visuals and produce content yourself, including shooting and editing both photo and video content Enthusiastic, resourceful, curious--and excited to work at the intersection of science and society Familiarity with EPFL, Swiss academia, or AI-related topics is a plu
