Key Responsibilities



Tariff Classification & Customs Data Management Classification of raw materials and finished goods (food and non-food) according to HS codes and Swiss customs tariff (Tares); maintenance of MIC database; submission of classification requests to OZD; transmission of customs master data to brokers Duty Refunds & Processing Traffic Execution and monitoring of refund procedures with OZD, TSM, and Reservesuisse; management of authorizations and monthly refund rates; tracking of eligible articles Authorization Management Oversight of customs-related permits including salt monopoly and general import licenses; coordination with Swiss authorities (FOAG, FOCBS) Import Quotas Participation in e-quota bidding procedures; monitoring and utilization of allocated quotas; ensuring correct clearance within quota tariff rates (KZA) and avoiding out-of-quota tariffs (AKZA) Export & Preference Management Preference checks under free trade agreements; management of supplier declarations and origin documentation; issuance of EUR.1 authorizations Import & Export Operations Daily coordination of truck clearance at Swiss borders; communication with customs brokers; handling of T1 documentation and export instructions Customs Instructions Preparation and communication of customs clearance guidelines to parcel service providers and border brokers; ensuring correct tariffing and documentation Invoice & Payment Processing Verification, coding, and submission of customs-related invoices; monitoring payments and maintaining customs cost overview Audit Support Coordination of customs audits and provision of required documentation Internal Collaboration Acting as interface to Procurement, Logistics, Legal, Sales, and Finance; providing customs data for strategic and operational decisions

Requirements on Methodes, Social and

Self-competences/Softskills



Degree or vocational training in customs, international trade, logistics, or related field Several years of experience in customs and trade compliance, ideally with Swiss import/export regulations Strong knowledge of tariff classification, preference law, refund procedures, and Swiss-specific requirements Proficiency in customs systems (e.g. MIC, SAP GTS) Fluent in German and English, both written and spoken
