Epam is seeking a highly skilled

Data Products Specialist

with deep expertise in the Microsoft Azure data ecosystem onsite at one of our prestigious banking sector clients in Zurich. In this role you will design, build and maintain enterprise-grade data products that transform raw data into actionable insights and analytics, supporting business-critical reporting and AI initiatives.


You'll serve as the bridge between technical data engineering and business value ensuring solutions are reliable, scalable and aligned with organizational goals. As part of a cross-functional team you'll collaborate with data engineers, analysts, architects and business stakeholders to deliver best-in-class data solutions.

Responsibilities

Design, implement and manage data products using Azure data services Ensure solutions meet performance, scalability and cost-efficiency requirements Oversee the full product lifecycle from concept, build and deployment to monitoring, optimization and retirement Develop and manage data pipelines using Azure Data Factory or Synapse Pipelines Implement robust data storage solutions with Azure Data Lake Storage (ADLS) and Azure SQL Database Leverage Azure Synapse Analytics, Databricks and other Azure services for data processing and transformation Partner with business teams to understand requirements and translate them into data product specifications Work with analytics teams to ensure products are optimized for BI tools (e.g. Power BI) and AI workloads Provide training, documentation and knowledge-sharing sessions to internal users

Requirements

Hands-on experience with Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics and Azure Databricks Strong SQL skills and proficiency in at least one programming language (Python, PySpark or similar) Understanding data modelling (Star/Snowflake schemas, data vault) and optimization for analytics Knowledge of data governance, metadata management and data cataloguing in Azure Strong understanding of data security, privacy and compliance requirements (GDPR, HIPAA etc.) Strong communication skills, ability to explain technical solutions in business terms Stakeholder management and requirements gathering experience Problem-solving mindset with a focus on delivering business value Fluent English is a must-have; German language skills are an advantage

Nice to have

Familiarity with event streaming platforms (Azure Event Hubs, Kafka) is a plus
