ABOUT THE ROLE

\\n

To actively support the Head of Real Assets in the management of the real assets portfolio, encompassing private and public market exposure across infrastructure and natural resources. Support the evolution, development and implementation of the real asset investment strategy. Manage, monitor and report on existing investment to key stakeholders. Support the sourcing, analysis and evaluation of real asset investment opportunities in pooled funds, co-investments, separate accounts and public markets.

The real assets exposure has a global focus. The role offers the opportunity to work within a relatively small team of up to 25 people within the Investment Office and will additionally facilitate exposure across multiple asset classes. The successful candidate will work closely with internal investment and operations professionals and liaise closely with external consultants, advisors and fund managers.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support the management of existing assets within the Real Assets Portfolio: Attend manager meetings and asset tours and ensure assets are responsibly managed to maximise overall performance. Support the buy/hold/sell analysis for existing assets. Work with Head of Real Assets to ensure cash flow modelling is systematically undertaken across the real asset portfolio as well as key fundamental, operating and market measures are tracked and included.\\n
  • Source new investment opportunities: develop, maintain and build personal network of manager and agent relationships to support the monitoring of the universe of opportunities. Overall responsibility for maintenance of Real Asset pipeline tracking.\\n
  • Review of market research and pricing within infrastructure and natural resources. Provide value-added and actionable insights. Support the development of market pricing trackers and relative value measurement to enable assessment of real asset sub sectors.\\n
  • Support investment due diligence on new investment proposals. Undertake initial screening of viable investment opportunities including presentations to Investment Office team. Work with Head of Real Assets to complete detailed investment due diligence.\\n
  • Investment Reporting. Draft and produce reporting as required across the real asset investments and investment portfolio as a whole.\\n

\\n Qualifications\\n


REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

\\n
  • \\n
  • 3-6 years of professional experience in an investment management role, ideally focusing on analysing / investing in infrastructure or natural resource funds.\\n
  • Quantitative mindset to be able to measure the value of decisions with ability to build, interrogate and maintain complex financial models. Preference given to those with actual programming abilities (Python, R).\\n
  • A strong grasp of financial analysis tools (such as Excel), reporting software (e.g. Burgiss / TopQ+).\\n
  • An enthusiastic and hands-on approach\\n
  • Intellectual curiosity and a proactive nature\\n
  • A strong academic background and pedigree\\n
  • The ability to work collaboratively in a high performing team\\n
