Job Description

LDC is looking for a commercially minded lawyer to join a busy Geneva-based legal team, with mission to provide day-to-day legal support to the core business activities of the Group, namely commodities trading and shipping.

Main responsibilities:

• Provide business-oriented legal advice to the Legal team\\xe2\\x80\\x99s internal clients in relation to all aspects of the physical trading of commodities, contentious and non-contentious, at a global level;
• Provide all-round legal support to the business operations, including day-to-day assistance, dispute resolution and support to trade and business development activities;
• Structure, draft, review and negotiate non-standard commercial agreements, or parts thereof, in coordination with various internal and external stakeholders;
• Assistance in the management of arbitration and litigation in a wide variety of jurisdictions.

Qualifications

Experience (including number of years):. Minimum 3 years of relevant experience; of which minimum 2 years PQE.

Education: Solid background in international trade law and/or maritime law a must. Qualification in a common law jurisdiction a strong asset.

Languages: English professionally fluent. French and other languages an asset.

• Self-motivated, diligent and detail-oriented;
• Strong inter-personal skills, proficient verbal and written communication;
• Able to cope of heavy workload and resilient to stress;
• Commercially-minded person with ability to provide solution-oriented advice that meet the business\\xe2\\x80\\x99 realities and constraints.
