Responsibilities:
User Services & Information Literacy
Manage loans, interlibrary requests, and maintain study spaces
Provide technical support for library resources, including databases, research tools, and library software
Assist users in navigating the library's online catalogue and integrated library systems
Provide research assistance and training (UG, MSc, PhD)
Deliver inductions, workshops, and online support
Faculty & Research Support
Support faculty and PhD researchers with literature searches, citation tools, and research strategies
Collaborate with faculty to integrate information literacy into the curriculum and support course-specific research needs
Align resources with course assignments and projects
Prepare subject guides and bibliographies
Collection & Resource Support
Recommend and help acquire new resources
Maintain a strong knowledge of the library's collections and digital resources to assist users effectively
Support cataloguing, processing, and collection maintenance
Monitor usage data to guide collection decisions
Digital & Communication Services
Maintain website, Moodle pages, and online guides
Assist in managing and maintaining digital resources, ensuring accessibility, usability, and optimal organization
Create digital communications (flyers, social media, newsletters)
Develop tutorials and search strategy materials
Administration & Collaboration
Collaborate with other library staff, faculty, and academic departments to promote library services and resources
Develop and participate in in outreach activities, such as library orientations, events, and promotions
Assist with invoices, reporting, and statistics
Provide service continuity during staff absence
Professional Development
Stay informed about emerging trends, technologies, and best practices in library and information science
Engage in professional development activities, attend conferences, and participate in relevant organizations
Profile and experiences:
Bachelor's degree in library science or CFC with relevant professional qualification
Experience in reference services, academic databases, and information literacy instruction, as well as in acquisitions, cataloguing, digital resources, and circulation
Strong research skills, including experience with literature searching and reference management tools (e.g. Zotero)
Strong digital literacy skills, including library systems (Netbiblio or equivalent), Moodle, Teams, Canva, Screencast tools
Fluent in English and French (Advanced written and spoken)
Excellent IT skills, including web development, databases and experience working with Library Management Systems
Strong communication and interpersonal skills for working with students and faculty
Proficiency in information literacy instruction and research support
Ability to manage multiple priorities and work collaboratively within a small team
Ability to organise processes, procedures, and systems, and to meet tight deadlines
