Database Manager - Lausanne (French speaking)

Our global end client in Lausanne is now looking for a

Database Manager

to take ownership of its database function. This is a key leadership role where you will guide a team of DBAs, ensure operational excellence, and shape the long-term strategy for business-critical systems.

What you will do

Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Database Administrators. Ensure databases are secure, highly available, and optimized for performance. Define and implement database best practices, governance, and standards. Oversee daily operations: monitoring, backups, patching, disaster recovery. Drive automation and continuous improvement in database operations. Collaborate closely with development, infrastructure, and security teams. Manage database upgrades, migrations, and new technology adoption.

What we are looking for

Proven experience as a

Database Manager, DBA Team Lead, or Head of Database Operations

. Solid background with SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, or equivalent platforms. Hands-on knowledge of performance tuning, clustering, replication, and HA/DR. Familiarity with some of the following cloud databases environment: AWS RDS, Azure SQL, Google Cloud SQL. Strong leadership, people management, and communication skills. Ability to balance strategic planning with operational execution.

Nice to have

Experience with cloud migrations or hybrid cloud strategies. Knowledge of Big Data tools (Snowflake, Databricks, Hadoop). Certifications in database or cloud technologies. Exposure to DevOps practices (CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code).
