THE ROLE
As a Network Engineer, you will be responsible for operating, maintaining, and developing our Network Infrastructure, as well as conducting projects to extend capacity and connectivity. You will play a key role in ensuring a stable operation of our services, scaling our infrastructure, and optimizing our network. This position offers an excellent opportunity for someone to gain exposure to state-of-the-art technologies as well as establish themselves in a dynamic, growth-oriented environment.
THE OPERATIONS TEAM
At Zattoo we are building the TV platform of the future, and our growing Operations team controls the whole IPTV chain from satellite and Multicast ingest through hosting hundreds of servers, petabyte-scale storage, and Tbps-scale streaming over our own network and CDN. There are many exciting areas to work on and to push TV to a new level.
WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Design, configure, test, and maintain our network and security equipment and related services
• Identify, diagnose, and resolve networking problems as they arise
• Collaborate with the SRE, Video, and Dev teams to define and document network standards and architecture
• Perform daily maintenance and problem resolution, operating system patches and software upgrades, and routine hardware configuration
• Plan the upgrades, optimization, and expansion of the network infrastructure
• Participate in on-call rotation
• Execute emergency work during incidents as part of a well-established on-duty process

WHAT YOU'LL BRING

• 3+ years working in Internet-related fields, and an advanced understanding of TCP/IP
• Juniper or Cisco IOS-XR expertise
• Linux experience
• Experience in selecting, testing, and deploying networking hardware and software
• Expert-level knowledge in large-scale IP networking technologies and protocols such as MP-BGP, OSPF, VLAN, QoS
• Working experience of the following: IP Multicast, STP, LACP, MC-LAG/vPC, Packet capturing tools, TCP/IP and IPv6
• Knowledge in network engineering procedures, best practices, and implementation of network documentation and diagramming
• Experience with multicast configuration and troubleshooting
• Experience with network automation tools and scripting are highly desired
• Ability to efficiently resolve network issues with varying degrees of complexity
• Working knowledge of common network monitoring and security utilities
• Willingness to learn new technologies and maintain industry knowledge

Bonus:

• Understanding of CDN concepts
• Experience in either the media or web scale sectors
• Experience in multi-vendor network topologies
• A propensity to experiment with emerging technologies
