early-career EMEA Packaging Engineer (f/m/d)

Primary Job Duties:

As packaging subject matter expert, you will be the primary point of contact for each Line of Business within the EMEA region on packaging activities. Oversee and manage complete packaging development process, including the creation of packaging designs, prototype development, and performance testing. Work closely with local packaging teams to ensure newly selected materials and design are ready for validation and ensure a high success for compatibility and performance. Develop and support the implementation of packaging processes, guidelines and best practices with the Global Packaging Team. Apply packaging material knowledge to design primary, secondary, and tertiary packaging systems for new and existing products replacing non-recyclable materials, optimizing packaging weight and size, following the company's sustainable packaging design guidelines. Identify and implement cost saving initiatives related to packaging materials, labor, efficiency, transportation, and storage. Structural elimination of over specification: enhanced manufacturing and product integrity. Participate in product introduction teams to deliver new products to market. Work with packaging suppliers to ensure packaging designs are optimized for manufacturability while ensuring shipped product meets customer expectations. Understand options to automate packaging solutions. Coordinate packaging validation activities and confirm packaging qualification documents with project teams. Specify and recommend efficiency tools and test methods to develop and validate packaging designs. Ensure the quality and accuracy of the technical data linked to the packaging materials in the system and that the pertaining documents are stored in the Packaging Repository. Assist site teams with troubleshooting new and existing problems related to packaging materials, packing equipment and processes to determine best-fit, timely, and cost-effective resolutions. Address and report regulatory exposures and ensure all packaging material meet safety and quality standards in consideration of legal, country requirements and business demands. Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including PS&R, Government Affairs, Product Management, Sustainability to ensure packaging systems meet regulatory requirements and industry standards. Support Procurement teams for the evaluation and selection of packaging vendors and periodically conduct vendor reviews.

Program and Position Requirements

Recently acquired Bachelor's or Master's degree in Packaging Engineering, Materials Science, or related field required.

Fluency in English is required; proficiency in German or French is considered an asset.

Knowledge of sustainable packaging materials and impacts on GHG reduction, recycling processes and circular economy principles Knowledge and understanding of packaging design validation standards (ISO, ASTM, etc.), drafting, and specification standards is essential Proficiency in 3D CAD software preferred An understanding of process improvement and quality improvement concepts is needed; ISO 9001 certification (e.g., CQA, CQE, CQIA) is desirable Six Sigma/ Lean Certification would be advantageous Knowledge of regional packaging and labelling regulations Commitment to DuPont Core Values and Behaviors Ability to multi-task and prioritize complex workload Ability to meet commitments, troubleshoot and solve problems Ability to work independently, as well as in a collaborative manner in a multidisciplinary team Ability to travel up to 20%.

Location : preferably in Meyrin or cross-border (Switzerland) or in Luxembourg.
