At Hitachi Energy Semiconductors, our R&D BiMOS department is dedicated to developing high-tech, faultless semiconductor devices and power modules. We manufacture these quality products at advanced internal and external production sites, delivering them to a diverse range of customers worldwide. Our applications span various industries, including renewable energy, traction, and E-mobility.
We are seeking a motivated and skilled R&D engineer with good knowledge of simulation tools to join the R&D BiMOS Module team. Our team focuses on developing new semiconductor power module technologies and products for different markets, from the initial design phase through to final qualification and product release.

How you'll make an impact
Use simulation tools like COMSOL and ANSYS to improve power module designs. Focus on thermal, electrical, and mechanical performance
Create and update 3D models using Rhino and Autodesk Inventor. Make sure the designs can be manufactured and are reliable
Explore new materials and joining methods. Check if they work well with the design and meet quality standards
Build prototypes and early test models based on the designs. Help with testing and validation
Write clear documentation about your work. Support publications, patents, and share knowledge with the team
Work with other teams, research partners, and suppliers. Make sure the designs fit production needs and product goals
Your background
Degree in mechanical engineering, material science, physics, electrical engineering, or a related discipline
Strong proficiency in simulation tools such as COMSOL Multiphysics, ANSYS Q3D, or similar platforms, with experience in multiphysics and coupled simulations
Experience with CAD tools like Rhino, Autodesk Inventor, or equivalent for design and modeling
Solid understanding of thermal, electrical, and mechanical behavior in power electronics systems
Hands-on experience with experimental validation and familiarity with manufacturing processes, ideally in power module packaging
Industry experience in high-tech environments is preferred, but motivated graduates with relevant skills are welcome
Excellent communication, documentation, and presentation skills.
Fluent in English; German is a plus
