Plant Process Engineer

Job Description

As a Plant Engineer, you will be a key contributor to the reliability and continuous improvement of our production facilities. Your mission is to provide expert engineering support to ensure the smooth operation of manufacturing systems, in full compliance with cGxP standards and customer expectations. You will be part of the Plant Engineering team within the Site Engineering department, focusing primarily on Bulk Production areas.
Responsibilities

  • Act as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for assigned installations, supporting users with technical expertise
  • Provide support for systems and equipment such as bioreactors, filtration (including UFDF), chromatography, process piping, CIP and SIP systems
  • Lead or support the design, installation, commissioning, and qualification of equipment upgrades and improvements
  • Monitor and maintain the technical condition of systems, proposing and coordinating corrective actions or enhancements
  • Ensure compliance with cGMP, GEP, SUVA/ASIT, and other relevant standards
  • Implement safety measures to mitigate risks of injury
  • Develop and apply engineering procedures and ensure alignment with site, divisional, and corporate standards
  • Participate in internal and external audits as a system expert
  • Lead the Takeda Obsolescence Program to manage equipment lifecycle and modernization
Must-Haves
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Biotechnology, Chemistry, Food Processing, or Mechanical Engineering
  • 7+ years of experience in the Pharma/Biotech industry, with a focus on Process Engineering or Manufacturing
  • Proven experience with installation, commissioning, and validation of pharmaceutical equipment
  • Familiarity with process piping, bioreactors, chromatography, filtration, CIP/SIP systems, and autoclaves
  • Knowledge of PLC/Automation systems (Siemens & Allen Bradley), maintenance, and utilities is a plus
  • Strong understanding of Good Engineering Practices, cGxPs, FDA and ISPE guidelines, ASTM2500, and ASME/BPE standards
  • Fluent in French and English (spoken and written); German is a plus
  • Proficient in MS Office and MS Project
  • Strong problem-solving skills, hands-on mindset, team orientation, and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
