About the team you are joining As the Senior Manager Custom Development, you will manage a team of developers building custom applications. You will have responsibility for all development work undertaken by the team along with the continual improvement of the processes, tools and approaches used to deliver these.

We are seeking a strong leader to establish an IATA I&D development capability that will become known for high quality software development.
This is a full-time position reporting to the Head of Architecture Salesforce and Solutions Design at the Executive Offices in Geneva, Switzerland.

What your day would be like

Leadership: Manage a team of developers responsible for custom application development.
  • Process Improvement: Continuously improve devops processes, tools, and approaches to enhance efficiency and quality.
  • Design Excellence: Uphold modern software design principles in-line with the approved architecture, evaluating and setting standards for technology choices.
  • Team Collaboration: Collaborate closely with development team members, architects, and team leaders to identify and implement process improvements.
  • I&D Systems Strategy: Contribute to the future direction of Custom Development systems through the I&D IT Strategy and system roadmaps.
  • Solution Design: Translate system roadmaps and strategy into actionable projects, system designs, and solutions.
  • Support and Escalation: Provide support and serve as an escalation point for project teams during development phases.
  • Talent Development: Ensure the ongoing personal development of direct reports.
  • Resource Planning: Assist in project resource estimation, scheduling and department capacity planning.
We would love to hear from you if you have:

5+ years hands-on experience in developing mission critical applications
3+ years developing microservice architecture.
Strong facilitation and coaching skills
Strong people management skills, the ability to lead and influence others
Expertise in multiple coding languages such as Java, Node JS, DotNet and Python.
Expertise in responsive and adaptive design paired with knowledge of modern testing methodologies and tools
Expertise in Agile methodology, underpinned by DevOps principles and CI/CD tools.
AWS Developer Certification
Bachelor\\\'s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field, complemented by a commitment to continuous professional development.
