Position Location: Basel, Switzerland;

Position Summary: Provide financial and business support for the Europe Clinical Trials Division within the Pharmaceutical Services Group. This position works closely with operating management to develop strategies to drive profitable growth and improve quality and service levels for our clients. The position has responsibility for sites Horsham, UK; Basel, Switzerland; Weil am Rhein, Germany; Rheinfelden, Germany, Russia, South Africa; and APAC.

Responsibilities:

\\n
  • \\n
  • Support the General Manager & leadership team to set and deliver the business plan and meet key operating & financial goals for a $1B packaging, distribution, comparator, and logistics business. \\n
  • Own the Annual Operating Plan process, Quarterly & Monthly Business Reviews and weekly forecasts in collaboration with the leadership team, Site GMs, Service Line GM\\xe2\\x80\\x99s, and finance managers.\\n
  • Own the monthly corporate reporting process and align with local accounting standards and US GAAP.\\n
  • Partner with colleagues within the BU and division to drive both functional and business operational improvements and efficiency projects.\\n
  • Provide performance reporting tools and metrics plus analysis and recommendations to business leadership to optimize business results. \\n
  • Prepare and present analysis and authorization for significant capital investments and commercial opportunities.\\n
  • Develop analytical models and tools to drive growth initiatives and improve business decisions. \\n
  • Lead and coach the local finance teams and operating partners to develop enhanced skills and discernment.\\n
  • Maintain strong internal controls to safeguard company assets\\n

Minimum Qualifications:

\\n
  • \\n
  • Candidate will demonstrate expertise in the following areas: operations accounting, statutory accounting, financial reporting, internal control, financial planning and analysis, financial modeling, project management, and technical accounting knowledge, within a P&L accountable business.\\n
  • VAT knowledge and experience. \\n
  • The ideal candidate will exhibit leadership, initiative and embrace the Thermo Fisher Scientific 4-I values of Integrity, Intensity, Innovation, and Involvement.\\n
  • Strong business and industry knowledge and a history of business partnering as well as the ability to develop and implement robust financial processes to drive effective decisions.\\n
  • The ability to identify and develop efficiency improvements and build an atmosphere of continuous improvement through PPI (Lean Operational Improvement).\\n
  • Excellent written communication skills, along with clear & concise verbal skills, are important. The ideal candidate will have the validated ability to obtain consensus at the executive level. \\n
  • The ability to recruit, develop, and lead professional teams and provide constructive feedback through performance and development processes. \\n
  • Confirmed history of leading cross functional / country teams and building interpersonal relationships with customers, peers and operating partners across functions & geographies.\\n
  • The ability to balance multiple assignments, work flexible hours and cope with the complexity of tracking and leading multiple, disparate moving parts.\\n
  • Excellent skills with MS Excel and MS PowerPoint are required; experience with Hyperion Financial Management (HFM) is preferred. \\n

Education/ Experience:

  • \\n
  • Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business or other relevant analytical background\\n
  • 10+ years of multifaceted meaningful work experience within a global organization.\\n
