The Global Affairs Office at the University of Zurich (UZH) supports the University's global engagement with partner institutions and key actors across international higher education and the academic community. The Office also manages the new Leading House Asia Pacific, a high-profile initiative to foster partnerships between Swiss researchers and academic, policy and innovation stakeholders across 15 countries in the Asia-Pacific region. Funded by the State Secretariat for Education, Research and Innovation (SERI), the Leading House is hosted by UZH with the mandate to coordinate activities on behalf of the entire Swiss higher educator sector. It supports a varied and prestigious portfolio of activities, including funding instruments for joint research and mobility, and outreach events to build visibility and global reputation.


Your responsibilities

In this role, you will be providing administrative and communications support for key activities in the Leading House Asia Pacific. You will contribute to the successful organisation of competitive funding calls, high-level events and visits, and stakeholder engagement in Switzerland and the Asia-Pacific region.



Key responsibilities will include:Support with the Leading House seed funding programmes, providing administrative support for applicants, proposal submission and the selection process, utilising a digital grants management tool; Administrative support for research and mobility grants funded by the Leading House, including documentation, evaluation, and financial administration; Support with high-level visits, delegations and events, including logistics, scheduling and events management; Communications and marketing support to showcase Leading House projects and activities on the UZH website and in social media channels; Support with the preparation of briefings and reports; Support with CRM and database management to maintain an updated list of contacts and key stakeholders.

We are looking for an UZH student with a keen interest in international partnerships, higher education and science diplomacy to complement our dynamic team in the Global Affairs Office.



With this role providing administrative support to a busy and varied portfolio of Leading House projects, you bring a strong eye for detail, a focus on delivering results, and exceptional communications skills. You thrive in a fast-paced and international team environment, and have the ability to switch effortlessly between diverse cultural contexts and stakeholders. As a highly-organised person, you bring a strong sense of professional responsibility, and you value collaboration and a positive team culture while being able to take the initiative, connect priorities, and work independently.



You work confidently with Office 365 and are willing and open to expand your digital skills set, including the use of the UZH CMS system (Magnolia), the Global Affairs CRM tool (Azorus), and grant management software for the implementation of funding schemes (Good Grants). You also bring excellent English language skills, including in writing, and good knowledge of German.
