As part of our commitment to sustainability and in response to the evolving global reporting landscape and requirements, we are hiring a Sustainability Reporting Manager. Our aim is to further develop and implement robust sustainability reporting methodology and processes aligned with the purpose of ABB, its business objectives, and sustainability initiatives.


In this critical role, you will support the organization with regulatory competence, coordinate the ESRS Double Materiality Assessment, and assume the key role in report writing.


Your collaboration with the global corporate functions and business areas will be essential in meeting these goals, adhering to best practices, and adapting to evolving standards.

Your role and responsibilities:

Regulatory competence:

Support the wider organization with regulatory competence, with a special focus on ESRS. Support internal stakeholders in translating regulatory requirements into concrete actions and disclosures. Review methodologies and working documentation across various ESG reporting topics for their regulatory compliance. Support developing ABB's position for regulatory consultations. Develop and deliver training on relevant sustainability reporting topics.

Double Materiality Assessment:

Further develop the ESRS compliant Double Materiality Assessment (DMA) methodology, with a focus on pragmatic solutions fitting the organization. Coordinate annual DMA refresh, ensuring an alignment with all impacted functions, ensuring regulatory compliance, and proper documentation. Plan and conduct all relevant steps, in line with the project plan, including conducting internal workshops, analyzing the data, deducting the scope of material datapoints. Work with external auditors to obtain external assurance. Further develop internal tools to conduct and document the DMA. Present the outcome of the DMA refresh to all relevant stakeholders, with the focus on practical implications.

Report writing:

Assume a key role in the writing of the Sustainability Statement. Liaise with all impacted internal and external stakeholders, in particular: explain the requirements, establish and further develop the way of working, collect required input, provide feedback. Draft ESRS compliant disclosures based on the input from internal stakeholders. Further develop the structure and form of disclosures, reflecting recent regulatory developments, benchmark results and stakeholder feedback.

Internal stakeholder communication:

Ensure internal stakeholders are consulted and informed on all matters regarding relevant processes, in particular the DMA and report writing. Create presentations for various meetings, including Steering Committees when applicable.

Your background:

Bachelor's degree - Business, Finance, Accounting or related field. Minimum 10 years of experience in financial and sustainability reporting. Thorough understanding of the sustainability reporting landscape, especially CSRD / ESRS. Extensive experience in practical application of ESRS requirements, especially of the Double Materiality Assessment. Skilled in developing comprehensive ESRS disclosures. Ability to deliver under tight timelines Effective communication and interpersonal skills, capable of engaging and reporting activities in a clear and effective way to stakeholders at various levels. Proficient ability to summarize and visualize with PowerPoint Demonstrated continuous improvement mindset. Ability to comfortably work across teams of different cultures and time zones. Very high proficiency in spoken and written English. Proficiency in German is a plus.
