Manager Global Engineering Department

Your role and responsibilities




For our traction and heavy electric vehicles business in Untersiggenthal, Switzerland, we are looking for a committed and passionate manager (m/f/d) for our Global Control Engineering team. In this challenging role, you will manage a team of engineers with expert knowledge in control software for traction applications and heavy electric vehicles.


Your team, in close collaboration with local engineering teams around the globe, plays a pivotal role in the project execution and has an important influence on the customer satisfaction. Do you have the necessary skills and drive to lead a strong and dynamic engineering team paired with a solid background in engineering? If so, this is your opportunity to take up a new challenge.

The main responsibilities include



+ Leading a team of up to 10 engineers in technical, personal and entrepreneurial aspects as well as training, coaching and mentoring the team members to release their full potential + Ensuring development and maintenance of standardized software for traction applications and heavy electric vehicles and the continuous resource planning, adequate staffing and introduction of new members to the team
+ Identifying and driving continuous improvements within the team and at the interfaces with other departments and disciplines, and supporting selected customer projects personally
+ Establishing and maintaining close collaboration with other control software and HIL test teams in Engineering and R&D to drive processes and technologies in the same direction

Qualifications for the role



Bachelor, Master or PhD in electrical, software or mechanical engineering, preferably with focus on control software for power converters At least 5 years work experience in a technical customer focused area Experience in innovative drive technology, ideally in the field of railway, e-bus or heavy electric vehicle propulsion First leadership experience (team or project lead) Project management experience advantageous Strong level of self-motivation and structured approach to work Leader and team player with excellent communication skills, both in English and German
