Job Description

Role purpose

• To organize and deliver the Targeted parent seed production volumes in Production fields with standard Quality parameters in time.

Accountabilities

• Responsible to drive the standards of HSE, Compliance and CSR initiatives as per Syngenta standards.
• Responsible to Deliver the Target volume of Quality parent seed in Time.
• To identify grower leaders and villages suitable for meeting seed production requirements
• To implement the Quality systems & procedures to facilitate Quality seed production.
• Plan & organize the seed production & co-ordinate with grower leaders & growers.
• To organize the seed production in required acreages & co-ordinate with grower leaders & Growers.
• To plan and ensure all production operations at field level as per the company\\xe2\\x80\\x99s requirements.
• To ensure the product security.
• To educate and train the growers, grower leaders and his staff on best production practices.
• To co-ordinate the activities of Quality Assurance (QA), Plant & Accounts
• To ensure Quality seed production and facilitate training on best practices.
• To maintain good relations with growers and grower leaders
• Responsible for timely submission of Field data and periodical reports for updating.
• To collect information from production location about competitor\\xe2\\x80\\x99s movements
• To observe the cropping pattern changes in his jurisdiction.
• To motivate and train Field production & TP staff on SOP\\xe2\\x80\\x99s, Policies

Qualifications

Knowledge, experience & capabilities

• .B.Sc (Ag) / M.Sc (Ag)/Seed Science & Technology/Agronomy/soil science with 2-3 years field production experience
• Mother tongue should be \\xe2\\x80\\x9cTelugu\\xe2\\x80\\x9d \\xe2\\x80\\x93very fluent in Telugu, English, Hindi
• Should have valid 4-wheeler driving license with good driving skills and rated as low risk driver.
• Willing to work across the locations in TS, AP and KA states
• Willing to travel across the field production locations of South India

Critical knowledge

• Rice crop, its agronomy
• Experience and technology knowledge in parent seed rice production
• Sound knowledge of agricultural inputs (fertilizers, pesticides and fungicides)
• Rural sociology and rural culture
• Grower\\xe2\\x80\\x99s psychology
• Leading a team of NFTE\\xe2\\x80\\x99s
• Leading grower leaders

Critical experience

• Good knowledge of Seed production in Field rice
• All agronomical experiences related to rice seed production.
• A good team player
• Leading small teams of NFTE\\xe2\\x80\\x99s
• Good experiences of quality production practices

Critical technical, professional and personal capabilities

• Working relation with farmers, NFTE and Organizers
• Focus on Quality aspects of rice parent seed production
• Skilled at English communication. Proficiency in Telugu.
• Good grasping knowledge
• Computer knowledge \\xe2\\x80\\x93 MS office excel, PPT etc\\xe2\\x80\\xa6

• Based in location in India and need to travel across the location.
• Ability to function as team player; Managing cross-functional teams
