Job Description

Key ResponsibilitiesTrading Operations: Execute physical commodity trades across West African markets, managing the full trade lifecycle from origination to delivery Market Analysis: Conduct comprehensive market research and analysis to identify trading opportunities and assess market risks Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, customers, and key stakeholders across West Africa Business Development: Analyze regional physical market dynamics, identify key market players and implement strategies to expand the company's presence and opportunities. Risk Management: Monitor and manage trading positions, hedging ensuring compliance with risk limits and company policies Logistics Coordination: Oversee logistics operations including shipping, storage, and delivery of commodities Contract Negotiation: Structure and negotiate complex trading agreements and contracts Market Intelligence: Provide market insights and intelligence to support strategic decision-making Travel: Regular travel to West African markets to develop business relationships and oversee operations

Essential Requirements
ExperienceMinimum 2-3 years of experience in commodity trading, physical trading, or related fields Post-graduate program experience preferred Previous exposure to West African markets is highly advantageous

Language SkillsFluent in French and English (speaking, reading, writing) Portuguese language skills are a strong plus Ability to communicate effectively across diverse cultural contexts

Technical SkillsStrong analytical and quantitative skills with experience in commodity trading fundamentals Understanding of risk management strategies and their application in commodity markets Knowledge of logistics operations and supply chain management Proficiency in trading systems and market data platforms Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with trading software
