  • You hold a Bachelor or Master degree in a relevant fields (Business, Engineering, Logistics, Trading & Commodities etc..) and have ideally minimum 6 years of professional experience
  • Experiences in bunkering, and/or shipping operations would be appreciated;
  • You have good practical knowledge of Legal and Contractual aspects (Incoterms, Customs & Excise and VAT), Finance (Credit, Cost Control, Treasury), Shipping (Vetting and Waterborne Transport), Quality and Loss Control.
  • You have excellent organizational and problem solving skills, solid negotiation skills, solution-oriented attitude, collaborative and transverse mind-set, team spirit and proactivity.
  • Ability to seize the big picture perspective. Strong sense of accountability and commitment.
  • Fluent in English, French is appreciated

Job Dimension

The Bunker Operations team requires reliable and committed people who thrive working in a fast-paced and real time environment. As we value collaboration and teamwork, we are looking for enthusiastic people with a cooperative mind-set to join our team located in Geneva. As a Bunker Operator, you will be closely working with traders and stakeholders (from producers such as refineries all the way down to customer, including agent, port authorities, transport companies, etc.) to coordinate all aspects of the post-deal trading activity from trade inception to completion.

Key figures:
  • International activity with a European / African dimension (More than 20 ports).
  • Volume of marine fuels delivered : Approx. 50-100 KT / month in the main Hubs
  • 5 barges chartered per year for LNG and fuel activity, truck COA for Marine Gasoil
What you will do
  • Be responsible for the day to day bunker operations for conventional products (Fuel, Gasoil, Biofuels etc.)
  • Coordinate logistics of all loading/discharging by barge and/or overland and avoid/mitigate any potential hazardous situations
  • Follow up the barges chartered (spot or T/C), managing off hire periods and financial / technical performance of the TC and optimize the rotations and loading plans.
  • Ensure a satisfactory customer service by good coordination and planning of operation supported by essential service providers (independent inspectors, agents etc.)
  • Identify the cause of any encountered operational problems and ensure resolution through coordination with all affected stakeholders, mitigating costs and consequences for the Group.
  • Evaluate all the costs derived from transactions, support the trading team for optimization of the hedging risk and communicate all operational data having a financial impact on Trading results (prices, hedges, freight, currency\\xe2\\x80\\xa6).
  • Handle customer claims and provide performance analysis through the implementation of specific tools (statistics, Kpi, etc)
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory aspects (Customs, VAT etc.) in collaboration with respective support departments.
  • Ensure compliance with vetting procedures
  • Adhere to HSE, Code of Conduct, Business Integrity and all other applicable company policies and procedures at all times.
  • Support the accounting team for the invoicing payment process and recovery of funds when applicable.
As an experienced Bunker Operator, you will also:
  • Support to the Business Development team for the development of new bunker business areas / counterparties (being the referent for operational set up, reviewing contractual clauses, verification of the legislative and customs framework, preparing and launching service provider\\\'s calls for tenders, etc.)
  • In due course, you will also train and mentor more junior staff

Fast-paced, dynamic trading environment with time-sensitive, business critical activities requiring 24/7 responsiveness, strong planning and organizational skills and attention to details. Ability to work with limited supervision.
Key interface and internal coordinator between all involved internal departments (Trading, Treasury, Credit, Financial Control, Accounting, Shipping, Vetting, Demurrage, etc.) and third parties.

Ensuring business continuity is key and you will be required to regularly swap of geographical areas in charge among the other members of the team in order to gain experience and absorb peak load of work per zone.\\n \\n \\n \\n \\n \\n
