Head Trade Compliance (f/d/m), 80-100%

Following an adjustment to our Regulatory and Compliance set-up, we are looking for a Head Trade Compliance for the Alpiq Group, reporting to the Head Compliance. If you are a senior trade compliance professional with trading experience and strong track record setting up and managing trade compliance, experienced with REMIT, MAR, EMIR and MiFID, this may be your next challenge. The Head Trade Compliance is responsible for trade compliance across the Alpiq Group, covering all activities across Europe. The trade compliance team includes one other professional. The Head Trade Compliance works closely with the Regulatory team and the Monitoring and Surveillance Team and is ideally based in Olten or Lausanne, Switzerland, although other Alpiq locations may be considered.

Your main responsibilities
  • Fostering strong compliance culture throughout the Group
  • Designing, maintaining and improving the Group\\\'s Compliance Management System for compliance with financial regulations and market integrity rules (including REMIT/MAR, EMIR/FinfraG, MiFID, etc.)
  • Managing the Algorithmic Trading Framework
  • Setting up and implementing trade compliance communication programme and trainings
  • Investigating potential breaches of financial and market integrity rules, providing related advice and recommendations and determined possible actions
  • Managing enquiries from regulators and regulatory investigations and procedures
  • Ensuring ongoing trade compliance monitoring and reporting to relevant stakeholders
  • Develop and maintain a strong understanding of the various lines of business in Alpiq and apply internal and external standards to commercial activity to ensure appropriate Compliance risk mitigations
  • Advising on trade compliance aspects
Your profile
  • University degree or other professional qualification in law, economics or other relevant field
  • Several years of professional experience in the field of trade compliance in an international company, preferably in a commodity trading company or bank with a focus on wholesale energy products
  • Leadership experience, including senior stakeholder management
  • Profound knowledge regarding Europe-wide best practice standards in trade compliance
  • Understanding of energy industry, in particular power, of advantage
  • Know-how in the field of internal investigations
  • Personal gravitas and ability to challenge others, ability to find and propose alternative solutions. Excellent communication and influencing skills, ability to inspire trust and promote cross-functional collaboration
  • Team-oriented with the ability to work independently and share knowledge and learnings broadly
  • Business fluent in English, additional languages, in particular German and French, of advantage
