You will work on the n2EDM experiment to search for a neutron electric dipole moment, a possible signal of beyond-Standard-Model physics. The apparatus is under commissioning at the ultracold neutron UCN source. You will have the possibility to work on all aspects of the experiment. You will be responsible for the mercury magnetometer system in all aspects of running, maintaining and further development in hard and software. You will take part in the first data taking of the n2EDM experiment and the first n2EDM analysis. You will supervise students on all levels.

You have a PhD degree in physics
Experience in experimental fundamental physics and/or neutron physics and/or experimental atomic, nuclear or particle physics are considered as an asset
Ability to work independently is essential
You are a good team player
Flexible and multitasking work attitude
Demonstrated practical experience in experimental work, hardware setup and data analysis; experience with lasers and optics is a plus
Programming skills are required, and experience with electronic/ mechanical hardware design are considered as plus
Excellent level of English as working language in spoken and written is mandatory
Ability to write excellent documentation in English
Knowledge of German or willingness to quickly learn German is a plus
